Inspired by growing up on the Australian coast and now living in Nashville, the song blends laid-back Australian charm with modern country production and a singalong chorus designed for windows-down drives and weekend gatherings.

Jackson James is an Australian-born coastal country artist, filmmaker, photographer and multi-instrumentalist now based in Nashville, Tennessee, where he’s immersing himself in the city’s legendary songwriting and recording culture.

His debut single, Get Around To It, announced his arrival as an artist, reaching No. 43 on the Australian Country Radio Top 50 Airplay Chart and climbing to No. 7 on the Kix Country Chart (now iHeartCountry Australia). The release established Jackson as an emerging voice in Australian country music and laid the foundation for the next chapter of his career.

Raised on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Jackson’s music has always been shaped by the coastal landscapes and storytelling traditions he grew up with. Drawing on influences from both Australia and the American South, his songs blend honest lyricism with cinematic imagery and a laid-back country sound.

Alongside his music career, Jackson has spent more than a decade working as an award-winning filmmaker and photographer, creating premium commercial films and acclaimed music videos. His work has been featured on CMT and trusted by some of Australia’s leading country artists, including James Johnston, Kaylee Bell, Melanie Dyer, Angus Gill, Robbie Mortimer, Tori Darke, Jake Davey and many more. His creative background continues to influence his music, giving his songwriting and live performances a strong visual and emotional identity.

Since relocating to Nashville, Jackson has immersed himself in the city’s world-renowned recording community, working inside some of Music City’s most respected studios alongside musicians who have played on some of country music’s biggest records. As a songwriter, session musician and recording artist, he has contributed guitars, ganjo and vocals to numerous Australian releases while continuing to refine his own sound in the heart of country music.

In 2026, Jackson performed at iconic events including CMA Fest and SXSW in Austin, Texas, while also representing Australia at the Australian Embassy in Washington, D.C., performing for the Royal Australian Air Force and distinguished diplomatic guests.
